Black Inclusion Index

You are here: Home / News / Black Inclusion Index

28th May 2021 by Sandra Pollock Leave a Comment

I tend to get involved in a number of different areas because I love supporting others in making a difference.

You’ll always hear me talk about my belief that each of us has specific things that we’re inspired to improve, create or make a difference on.  And that’s great.  It adds to our variety of interests as human beings and it also shows that there is space enough for all of us.  We’re all different.

Anyway, I digress from my original point.

I’ve been involved in one way or another, in equality issues for many years.  So when there was a call out a year ago for people who wanted to create a change in relation to Black Lives Matters (BML) and creating Black Leaders, I naturally put my hand up, again.

This movement has come a long way in just less than a year, pushed into being from the very global viewing of the killing of George Flloyd in the US. The wonderful thing is that this brought together organisations and individuals from all cultural and ethnic groups focused on bringing about equality for black people.

Black Leaders came up with a number of ideas and workstreams to make the ideas happen. One of the ideas was the launch of the Black Inclusion Week which took place from 10th to 14th May 2021.

I chose to become part of the workstream that worked on creating the Black Inclusion Index. This index, which is the first of its kind and groundbreaking achievement, was launch on 10th May 2021.  I was honoured to be asked to take part, along with the other members of the Black Inclusion Index team in that launch.

Here is the recording of this launch which I am sure you will find informative.  We look at and answer questions such as:

  • What is the Black Inclusion Index?
  • Why is it needed?
  • What difference it will make?

If you’d like to find out more about the Black Inclusion you can do that here.

I am happy to meet with organisations and leaders who might wish to find out how they can support the improvement of their strategy of inclusion for employing, developing, and promoting black employments.  Book a meeting with me here.
