It’s not every day that someone writes an article about you.

Some people would tell you that you should not take too much notice of the press or the opinion of others.  I would only agree with this if that opinion is one that seeks to bring you down.

Last Friday was one of the biggest, if not the biggest event in my annual calendar.  It was my annual East Midlands Women’s Awards Gala Presentation Dinner, held at Colwick Hall, Nottingham.

There has been so much across social media in the past week about it, and there still is even almost a week later, as I sit down to write this blog.  It was a wonderful event.  It is my pleasure to highlight and recognise the work of the many outstanding women across the East Midlands.  And it brings me great joy to see the excitement and genuine pleasure this recognition brings to others.

Well, it is my own pleasure now to share with you an article written on me by the Concannon team at Concannon Connection, of which I am a member.  It was a complete surprise and is very complimentary.  Obviously, I wouldn’t share it if it was not.  I’m all about building people up, including myself.

But I like this article because it has captured much of what motivates me.  It is a success story and I like to share success stories, even those about myself.

In the UK, we are a little reticent to shout about and celebrate ourselves and tend to sit around waiting for someone else to do it.  Many times, this can be disappointing.  Most people are too busy sorting themselves out.

So, I’m taking my own medicine.  If I were my own client, I would encourage me to shout about and celebrate my own achievements.  So here I go… follow the link to the article here.  I hope you enjoy it.  Sandra Pollock, EMWA Founder
