International Women’s Day Drop-in Talks

7th March 2021 by Sandra Pollock Leave a Comment

With another opportunity to celebrate women across the world again this year, International Women’s Day 8th March, I thought I would talk with both women and men to find out what people think about this annual event.

In case you didn’t know International Women’s Day existed in different forms in various countries across the world for over 100 years.

However, a national day for women was officially marked in the US in 1909 (28th Feb) but it was not until the first official International Women’s Day was marked in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland in 1911, that it started to take off as a growing global event.

The United Nations (UN) made it official from their standpoint in 1975 and it has become an almost global event.

It is usually celebrated on the 8th March each year, but as you can imagine, so many events and activities are planned for that one day, that now the celebration continues throughout the week and even into the month.

So, this year, I decided that I would hold a number of live vlogs where I talk with a number of my friends, both female and male, to find out what they, and others think about International Women’s Day.

Most of the conversation will take place on Monday 8th March and here is the schedule and the list of guests who will be joining me:

8:00 – ?Karen Social Media Strategist, Director, Cureton Consulting
12:15 – David Wilkes Cert CII Director, Tudor Rose Consulting
13:15 – Clive Fraser, Professor of Economics, University of Leicester
3:15 – Cheryl Armatrading. Director, Antoin, Akpom Achievements Foundation
4:15 – Beverley Sankey? Wellness and Finance Mentor and Donna Corah

6:15 – @Simon Jones, Strategic Programme Director, Fuel Cells at Johnson Matthey
