Rutland the President of Rotary club with be celebrating International Women’s Day with an International Women’s Day Breakfast on the 8th March in Uppingham.

Rotary Club Uppingham President, Shane James, has taken the lead by organising a major breakfast charity event to be hosted by The Falcon Hotel in Uppingham Market Place.

Ron Simpson BEM, writing in the Rutland and Stamford Mercury stated, attendees will hear from three speakers on the day, the list of which includes our very own Sandra Pollock is a multi-award winning inspirational speaker, author, radio host and management consultant who founded and then developed the East Midlands Women’s Awards into a national celebration of women’s achievements. Engaging with her bubbly personality is always an unforgettable experience.

Celebrated artist Maggy Herbert-Jobson was born a scouse in Liverpool. Told that she was too messy to be a painter, she subsequently went on to study law, economics and psychology before pursuing an international and exciting career in the military, the airlines, transnational law and John Lewis. Now she says she simply paints!

Chris Emmett is an experienced non-executive company director and chairperson with a 30 year career in the rail industry, health and major infrastructure projects. She has led business change in health sector and procurement of a number of major high risk projects including the Channel Tunnel works and as commercial director for rail privatisation. She has served as a non executive director for HS2 Ltd, the Peterborough and Stamford NHS Trust and University Hospitals Leicester. She is currently a volunteer ambassador for Mesothelioma UK, an asbestos-related cancer charity.

One hundred places at table are available to network and hear the inspirational stories of three outstanding women. It promises to be a memorable occasion with all genders welcome to attend.
