In a previous post, I mentioned that I’d been invited to be a guest speaker the Network 2 Konnect event. Well, last Wednesday evening was the date and I went along to Network 2 Konnect.
Network 2 Konnect founded by Bushra Ali, the most recent past President of the Leicestershire Law Society. I’d heard of the network, but not had an opportunity to visit. Bushra had asked me to speak on the ‘My Journey to Success’.
The format and presentation style was quite refreshing. Guests received a warm and friendly welcome. The attendees were from a wide mix of cultures, backgrounds and businesses. I got to meet a few people I’d not met before and there was time to find out little some of the other businesses there before the presentations began.
The venue, the Leicestershire Cricket Ground, was well presented with warm, friendly staff on hand to support guest as well as organisers. The presenters were informative and I came away having received much food for thought on the other two topics which were presented. If you’re in the area, I’d recommend you go along to one of these meetings.
The other speakers were: Sat Sidhu, who spoke on the importance of having a will. He also shared the pitfalls and myths as stacked up against current laws. And Ben Stocking spoke on the environment and climate change. The presentations were informative and made me think about what we, as business owners can do to impact on climate change. It was truly an informative evening. It was also good, in my opinion, to hear about wider aspects of the business world for a change.
It was a pleasure to share a little of my journey as far on this road to success. I used this picture to express how I see my journey to success has been so far.
I would place it on the list of one of the better networking events I’ve attended recently.
Here’s some feedback from some of the delegates:
A pleasure meeting with you Sandra Pollock. A really great presentation. Satwiner Sidhu.
Had a great evening. Learned loads and Sandra Pollock, yet again, inspired me to think a little more (never a bad thing). Karl Craig-West.
I loved catching up with Sandra, such an inspirational and motivating speaker. Chris Beesley-Reynolds.
